Next Door
a note from the founders
Next Door started the way most good things do: with two friends, a shared passion, and the simple thought of "what is stopping us?". Sam and Tori met studying drama at NYU, where they are both focusing on directing. In their first semester, they spent their time talking about all the brilliant young artists whose work is full of life, energy, and the words of the next generation. The work that current students are making deserves an audience now, not years down the life after graduation.
So in the Fall of 2025, they built Next Door Theatre Company: a creative platform for young-adult artists, rooted in the mission to cultivate the creative gifts God has given us and provide a real space for people to tell their stories and launch their work. We are a community rooted in faith. We love God and are guided by His word. At our core is genuine love for God, People, and Art.
The name Next Door says who we are very simply. Next Door is a community of neighbors, friends, and people who support you. It is also the belief that the next door in theatre belongs to these young artists.
Our work is funded entirely by this community — family, friends, collaborators, and strangers. Every production we've made has been possible because people showed up supported us.
